Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Gym Leaders
Rustboro City -- Leader Roxanne -- Stone Badge

  • Pokemon: Geodude (lvl-14) & Nosepass (lvl-15)
  • Type: Rock
  • Recommended Type/level: Grass/Water - level 14
  • Payment: $1500 - TM39 - Rock Tomb

The first gym is always the easiest, well that is if you have the right Pokemon, if you picked the grass or water starter, you will defeat this gym with no problems, but if you chose the fire starter, it may be a little bit more of a challenge. Whip out your strongest water/grass type to kill the geodude in one blow, than if your water/grass type is low on health for the nosepass, use a potion, but you probably wont need to. Finish her last Pokemon with a couple water guns, and claim your victory! If you have chosen the fire starter, don't use fighting attacks like tackle, it wont do much, the best thing to do is slowly chip away at his health with elemental attacks such as ember.

Dewfort City -- Leader Brawly -- Knuckle Badge

  • Pokemon: Machop (lvl-17) & Makuhita (lvl-18)
  • Type: Fighting
  • Recommended Type/level: Flying/Psychic - level 17
  • Payment: $1800 - TM08 - Bulk Up

Once you start this battle, you will probably notice that Brawly only has 2 Pokemon, easy right, well, not really! The first of his Pokemon is a level 17 machop, this battle is relying mostly on level, since at this point in the game it is hard to get a psychic Pokemon, and you did think you needed a crappy bird, so the only thing you are counting on is a high level Pokemon. if your Pokemon is around level 22 or something, you should be fine... along with another Pokemon at least level 16 or up. After defeating the easer one to Makuhita. He is a little harder, with is awesome arm thrust attack, he will do some heavy damage if you let him, so don't let that happen, use skill and potions when you think the time is right, and you should take down this fats-o fast. So now you have won the Knuckle badge, congrats.

Maulville City -- Leader Wattson -- Dynamo Badge

  • Pokemon: Magnemite (lvl-22) & Voltorb (lvl-20) & Magneton (lvl-23)
  • Type: Electric
  • Recommended Type/level: Ground - level 20+
  • Payment: $2300 - TM34 - Shock Wave

Once you have gotten past the silly switches, fight Wattson and start the battle! His Pokemon can be very powerful, that is if you do not have the right Pokemon, but luckily for you you do!....right, well whatever, the first of the 3 Pokemon he sends out is a level 22 Magnemite. This little ball of shock wont go down without a fight, I wouldn't suggest using any move like tackle on this guy, his attacks are extremely strong if he decides to use them in the right situation, witch he usually does, so try to take him out before he gets you to low, because that Sonic boom attack does major damage. If you have chosen mudkip your in luck because he should know the move mud shot, witch does lots of damage to him. If you chose the fire starter you should be happy, because since Magnemite is half steel, you should take him down with no problems. I would use a super potion now if you have one, because this is the weakest Pokemon in the fight, so take him down with some plain element moves and its on to the big guns! A level 23 Magneton. Its shock wave attack will die massive damage if you are not prepared, so make sure you are, consistently keep blowing him with mudshot or ember and he should be taken down, thus beating the 3rd gym, now its on to the next!

Lavaridge Town -- Leader Flannery -- Heat Badge

  • Pokemon: Slugma (lvl-26) & Slugma (lvl-26) & Torkoal (lvl-28)
  • Type: Fire
  • Recommended Type/level: Water - level 26+
  • Payment: $2800 - TM50 - Overheat

At the start the new boss is confused, but she packs a punch, she has attacks that do massive amounts of damage so watch out. First she sends out a level 26 Slugma, witch with mudkip you can extinguish with a couple of hits, repeat this process for the next Slugma she sends out, because it is the same level. Defeat them quickly, because you don't want her Pokemon using Overheat! This move does heavy damage, but lowers the attackers stats. After defeating thing one and thing 2, its on to the top dog, the leader of the pack, the head of the heard, a level 28 female Torkoal! This Pokemon is dangerous to mess with, it has awesome attacks such as Overheat, and for peat-sakes *oh noooo* don't let it fall in love with you!! Blast this beats with numerous water attacks and get out of there!

Petaleurg City -- Leader Norman -- Balance Badge

  • Pokemon: Slaking (lvl-28) & Vigoroth (lvl-30) & Slaking (lvl-31)
  • Type: Normal
  • Recommended Type/level: Fighting - level 30+
  • Payment: $3100 - TM42 - Facade

In the starting Norman will through out a level 28 Slaking, witch is the evolve form of Slakoth, Slaking will slam your Pokemon with harsh moves such as Facade, witch does tons of damage to your Pokemon, so hold on tight and be prepared to use some potions! Take down this mammoth with using moves over and over to take him down. Since he has a disadvantage (lofting around) he is not as hard as he could be to beat, so finish him off and move on to his next Pokemon. Once defeated you will have to deal with a level 30 Vigoroth, witch will be hard because he is a lot faster, and doesn't slack off, so this is where those powerful fighting moves come in handy. After getting his health low, it is likely that Norman will use a hyper potion to regain health, well thats to bad for you, so suck it up and finish this bad boy! Now, for the leader a level 31 Slaking! Don't let this beats hit you with faint attack, because it will do some heavy damage, but remember, in between turns he will go lofting around, so thats your time to regain health (use a potion) or attack him with your best attack! Once you take that joker to the cleaners, claim your prize and the new owner of a shiny new Balance Badge!

Fortree City -- Leader Winona -- Feather Badge

  • Pokemon: Swellow (lvl-31) & Pelipper (lvl-30) & Skarmory (lvl-32) & Altaria (lvl-33)
  • Type: Flying
  • Recommended Type/level: Electric/Ice/Rock - level 30+
  • Payment: $N/A - TM40 - Arial Ace

Ok, so a flying gym, how, odd, well enough with the jibber jabber, its time to fight, start the battle with a level 31 Swellow. This is one of my favorite Pokemon, because I like flying type, and I like how it is so fast, well if you can get the courage to beat him do it because this bird will give you a good kick when your down, a good thunder attack will take it down with ease, an ice attack will do good to. After that, she will send out Pelipper, oh no, no this thing, I hate it, kill it fast! Smash it with a quick electric based attack and bring it down in one move. now another one of my favorites, Skarmory! His shiny metallic cloak will slice you into 7 pieces, don't let that happen, smack it down to low health with a fire attack or a ice attack, it will probably get full health from a hyper potion so again, a good fire move will demolish it. and last, for Altaria, that flying majestic creature.... will kill you! so get it with some basic attacks, than if it gains full health use some more attacks, but save that giant attack for last to make it oh so sweet ^__^

Mossdeep City -- Leaders Liza & Tate -- Mind Badge

  • Pokemon: Lunatone (lvl-42) & Solrock (lvl-42)
  • Type: Psychic
  • Recommended Type/level: water/grass/dark - level 39+
  • Payment: $N/A - TM40 - Ariel Ace

Though rare, a Dark type would help you out immensely in this battle, and it would make it seem not so hard. Lunaton and Solrock pop out. Thanks to their rock types, grass and water types have the advantage here. If a Pokemon used Sunny Day, use that to your advantage if you have Solar beam and use it. Solrock may also use it. Like I said before, if you have a dark type, it would help big time, but you can beat them with a high level swampert or Sceptile. After beating the sisters, its on to the next, and last gym!

Sootopolis City -- Leader Wallace -- Rain Badge

  • Pokemon: Luvdisc (lvl-40) & Wishcash (lvl-42) & Sealeo (lvl-40) & Milotic (lvl-42) & Seaking (lvl-43)
  • Type: Water
  • Recommended Type/level: Electric/Grass/Fighting - level 40+
  • Payment: $N/A - TM03 - Water Pulse

I only have one word, grass! if you don't have a grass type, a electric type would do good too, but Wishcash will whip it, so use grass! Kill Luvdisc, Wishcash, Sealeo, Milotic, Seaking with grass, just be careful, there just might be an ice type involved... >_>;
