Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Gym Leaders
Oreburgh City -- Leader Roark -- Coal Badge

  • Pokemon: Geodude (lvl-12), Onix (lvl-12), Cranidos (lvl-14)
  • Type: Rock
  • Recommended Type/level: Grass/Water/Fighting - level 14+
  • Payment: TM76 - Stealth Rock/$1,680

Players who chose Piplup/Turtwig are in luck! Piplup and Turtwig have an advantage against Roark's rock type Pokemon, his Geodude should pose no threat, 1 or 2 water guns/razor leafs should do the trick. Now his Onix should also be quick to defeat, but remember do not use psychical attacks as they do little damage, if you picked Chimchar, just whittle away Onix's health with some quick embers, Now his Cranidos can be a little challenging, his Cranidos has the Ability, Mold Breaker. Which means Turtwig's Overgrow, Piplup's Torrent and Chimchar's Blaze will not affect Cranidos, so just erase Cranidos' HP with quick embers/waterguns/razorleafs, eventually Cranidos will fall and you will be victorious, so don't give up^^.

Eterna City -- Leader Gardenia -- Forest Badge

  • Pokemon: Cherubi (lvl-19), Turtwig (lvl-19) & Roserade (lvl-22)
  • Type: Grass
  • Recommended Type/level: bug/Flying/Fire - level 20+
  • Payment: TM80 - Grass Knot/$2,640

Ok, now this gym can be difficult if you have picked Piplup your starter, since piplup is very weak to Grass attacks, I recommend catching a Starly, Kricketune, or Ponyta before your battle with Gardenia. her Cherubi is no problem and can be taken down quickly with a Flying-type attack like gust, now her Turtwig is FAST so rely on your fastest Pokemon, but it's defensive power is pretty weak, so a strong fire-type attack should do iy, about 2-3 embers at the most, now her Roserade is a pain in the neck, it is holding a Sitrus Berry which will recover a whopping 30HP! Now is a good time to uses your Starly or Staravia, if your Starly/Satravia knows Pluck, you should use it on Roserade, due to, that attack will steal it's precious Sitrus Berry and will do some Major Damage! Watch out for Roserade's Poison Point Ability, which has a 30% chance of poisoning your Pokemon, so it might be a good idea to carry an Antidote or two. Good Luck^^

Velistone City -- Leader Maylene -- Cobble Badge

  • Pokemon: Meditite (lvl-27) & Machoke (lvl-27) & Lucario (lvl-30)
  • Type: Fighting
  • Recommended Type/level: Ground/Psychic/Flying - level 29+
  • Payment: TM60 - Drain Punch/$2000

Fighting type Pokemon are one of the strongest types available, but they have weaknesses, so be careful their attacks can literally CRUSH YOU! Ok as you know, Maylene uses Fighting type Pokemon, so i would recommend bringing a strong Flying type ans Strong Psychic/Ground type. Now here first Pokemon, meditite, will use reflect which lower your physical attacks power, so do as much damage as you can before it uses that attack! Meditite also knows Detect which can be really annoying, due to your attacks always miss, also Meditite is part Psychic so flying types won't do that much, I recommend a good ground type for Meditite if your Pokemon knows any ground-based move, launch multiple attacks at Meditite. Ok her next Pokemon machoke is quite easy, a good flying Pokemon should knock it's lights out for good! use Ariel Ace if learned and gusts/plucks too, watch out for his attacks though, don't under estimate the enemy! Next is Lucario which can be a real drag...it's steel/fighting, so it is resistant to about 14 of the 17 types and is vicious too, also it is also at a high lv. too(Lv.30), so hit it with strong Fire attacks and Flying, if you don't have a Flying type or Fire type, this battle could be difficult...DO NOT USE ROCK TYPES! They are weak against fighting types! With that said, good luck^^

Pastoria City -- Leader Crasher Wake -- Fen Badge

  • Pokemon: Gyrados (lvl-27), Quagsire (lvl-27) & Floatzel (lvl-30)
  • Type: Water
  • Recommended Type/level: Grass/Electric - level 32+
  • Payment: TM55 - Brine/$3,600

Ok Wake is a Crasher, a Crasher is a surfer, so he is a surfer...duh! Anyways, let's get down to why you reading this....ok He has a Gyrados, Quagsire & a Flotazel (I like floatzel^^), now his Gyrados will be out first..so he is a pain in the ...well you know...well anyways i recommend you using a strong electric pokemon against Gyrados since it does double damage, due to it being a Flying/Water (how does that thing fly anyways), ok you can find a Pikachu on Route 212, which can be helpful against his Gyrados, ok now for the other Pokemon. Next is his Quagsire, who is immune to Electric attacks, so DON'T use Pikachu, use a Grass type, again to due to being double damage, because it's Ground/Water, about 2-3 string grass types should get rid of him..now come the my favorite^^. Wake's Floatzel is fast and is won't take that much damage due to being part dark-type, so just use a combination of Grass/Electric types, he should be easy to take down if you have a Grass & Electric type it you don't this battle will be challenging, also it's Brine attack is powerful too so watch out for that. so...good luck^^

Hearthome City -- Leader Fatina -- Relic Badge

  • Pokemon: Drifblim (lvl-32), Gengar (lvl-34), Mismagius (lvl-36)
  • Type: Ghost
  • Recommended Type/level: Dark, Ground - level 34+
  • Payment: TM65 - Shadow Claw/$4,320

Did you know Fatina is French for Phantom,...that's why she's a ghost-type trainer, duh! But enough about that, now she has 3 Pokemon, like previous gyms, except here Pokemon are ghost, which are quite strong Pokemon, DO NOT USE normal attacks like take down on her Pokemon, they will just inaccurate, and you will loose a turn, with that said, lets get started. Ok her first Pokemon Drifblim, is no MAJOR threat, but it could get annoying with it's Ominious Wind attack, use Dark-type attacks like Bite or Crunch and it should be down for the team, or another ghost type will work too, also it knows the attack Minimize, which can get really annoying due to it lowers your accuracy, so watch out^^. Next is her Gengar which is very fast and hits hard! So use your strongest Dark or Ghost type attacks on Gengar, his special attack is high, but it's defense it pretty low, so use that to your advantage. Now, finally her Mismagius show it's face. Ok her misamagius knows Confuse Ray which stinks, because it can confuse your Pokemon :(. So just use quick dark type attacks and pray @_@....literally...lol, Good Luck^^

Canalave City -- Leader Byron -- Mine Badge

  • Pokemon: Bronzor (lvl-36), Steelix (lvl-36), Bastiodon (lvl-39)
  • Type: Steel
  • Recommended Type/level: Fighting, Ground, Fire - level 38+
  • Payment: TM91 - Flash Cannon/$4,320

Ok, now comes Byron, Roark's father. Byron uses Steel-Types which are resistant to 14 of the 17 pkmn types, which doesn't help you at all, but, if you picked Chimchar as your starter, this gym will be a piece of cake. Now Byron always sends out his Bronzor first, so use a quick fire-based move to take it out, also you may notice that is is part-Psychic, don't be fooled and use a Dar-types attack, it will do nothing due to it's steel characteristics, so just stick with fire attacks. Next is Byron's Steelix, which is Steel/Ground, if you have a water type, now would be a good time to use it, because Steelix is part Ground, also a fighting would be VERY useful and will do X2 damage to Steelix. fire attack are effective too, so you can use that as well, eventually you will crush Steelix, but it is no over yet...Byron next and final Pokemon is Bastidon, the evolved form of Shieldon. Bastidon can be a pain in the neck, but Bastiodon's high defense isn't hard to pierce. Bastidon is weak to Water, Ground and Fighting types, don' bother using Fire attack, they will be useless. Now if you have a fighting type this battle should be over in about 3 hits, if you don't it might take awhile. Be careful with Bastidon, when his Hp is low it will use Rest to replenish ALL of it's HP, and on top of all that it will use it's held-beery to wake up on the same turn, so watch out for that, so...Good Luck!^^

Snowpoint City -- Leader Candice -- Icicle Badge

  • Pokemon: Snover (lvl-38), Medicham (lvl-40), Sneasel (lvl-38), Abomasnow (lvl-42)
  • Type: Ice
  • Recommended Type/level: Fighting, Flying, Fire, Steel - level 41+
  • Payment: TM72 - Avalanche/$5,040

The hot-blooded Gym Leader, Candice is next, her Pokemon may be COLD, but her passion is HOT (sorry i just need to say that :p) Ok, now Candice's first Pokemon is Snover, which is Ice/Grass. When Snover is sent out it will unleash a Hail, due to it's Ability, so prepare for a storm. Now Snover is fairly easy to take out, a Flying or Fighting types should take it out. Next is Medicham, who is part Psychic/Fighting, so psychic is out of the question, so use a strong flying attack should wipe it out. Be careful with Medicham's Bulk Up, it is deadly, but her defense is low, so that's your advantage. Her next Pokemon is Sneasel, which is easy to wipe out due to it's VERY low defense, one hit should KO it, but watch out for it's speed! Her last and most deadly Pokemon is Abomsnow. Abomasnow knows Swagger which will increase your Pokemon's attack power by two stages, but will also confuse. Your main goal here is to use that to your advantage, like Snover, use a strong fire-type attack, if you have no fire types or attacks in your arsenal, use fighting, flying or steel types. Good Luck!^^

Sunnyshore City -- Leader Volkner -- Beacon Badge

  • Pokemon: Raichu (lvl-46), Luxray (lvl-49), Ambipom (lvl-47), Octillery (lvl-47)
  • Type: Ice
  • Recommended Type/level: Ground, Rock, Grass - level 48+
  • Payment: TM57 - Charge Beam/$5,880

Volkner is the 8th and final gym leader in the Sinnoh League, defeating him will earn you the privilege to face the Elite Four, so this won't be an easy battle. First up is his Raichu which has the ability Static, which in terms can paralyze your Pokemon if it comes in psychical contact, so rely on Special attacks like hyper beam when possible. Raichu's only advantage is it's Speed but other than that it's pretty weak, it knows Charge beam which is a really strong Electric attack, havening the chance of raising it's Special attack, so watch out for that. his next Pokemon in his arsenal is Ambipom, which isn't really powerful in any of it's stats so just hit it with hard attacks and it should be out of the way, a fighting attack will help you out with this guy. Next is his Luxrat, the most strongest Pokemon in his team. Luxray has not much of defense, but it's attack is VERY strong,, it will use attack like Thunder Fang to paralyze your Pokemon, so be on the lookout. Luxay can take a hit, even when using Rock/Ground types against, just hit it with your strongest Pokemon and it should be down for the count. Lastly comes his...Octillery..(what the...i though Volkner uses electric...o_0). Octillery knows, Aurora Beam. Charge Beam, Bullet Seed & Octazooka. It has pretty solid stats, except it's speed, so that will be your advantage. Just hit it with strong grass types and it should fall pretty quickly, if you picked Turtwig, you will have an advantage, so...Good Luck!^^
